The interior still boasts its original glass, mirrors and mahogany and fittings, with some sympathetic updating.Īn old local London pub reinvented as a craft beer drinking spot, for the new generation of drinker. It has a funky, laid-back vibe with weekend DJs and an innovative seasonal drinks menu with some original mixology.Ī traditional London pub in St Martin’s Lane, this an ornate gin palace is a triumph of Victorian exuberance. The good news is that their replacements offer a far more interesting drinking experience with a range of pubs, cocktail bars and karaoke bars serving everything from real ale from local microbreweries to exotic mixology.Ī classy Shoreditch bar taking its inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s nonsense poem ‘Jabberwocky’. All in all, a fantastic little Hotel and one I can't wait to visit again.There’s never been much of a problem finding somewhere to drink in London, particularly since the antiquated licensing laws were relaxed, though changing social attitudes have seen the demise of thousands of local backstreet London pubs. A short 5 minute taxi ride takes you in to Protaras if you crave further choice. The small resort of Pernera has plenty of shops, restaurants and bars and a great beach with watersports available. ![]() There is a supermarket directly across the road and 2 others within a 2 minute walk. ![]() The location is perfect, 2 minutes walk from the beach and 5 minutes walk from the main street. Drinks prices were very reasonable and a good selection is stocked. Generally evenings were spent at the outside bar chatting to guests old and new, although there is a fun quiz night and a BBQ/Karaoke night once a week. The breakfast was plentiful and included something for everyone.bacon, eggs, toast, bread, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese and cereals. The pool area is of a good size and with plenty of sun beds, although a few people still insisted on putting out their towels before breakfast.I guess old habits die hard! The restaurant and bar were located outside, however, there is a small lounge and inside restaurant if you prefer.We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. All rooms have a nice balcony with table and chairs. The shower was good and always plenty of hot water. The rooms are a little on the small size, but the beds were extremely comfortable and storage space was more than adequate. If you want a wonderful small spotlessly clean Hotel, with fantastic staff and in a great location, then you should definitely consider this Hotel. If you want a large modern Hotel with an entertainments team, kids club etc, then this Hotel is not for you. We look forward to seeing you all next September. We did hire a car while we were in the UK with full cover insurance and were prewarned about the hire company wanting to sell us additional insurance for the car - this is still ongoing as we were told that if we did not take it out we would not be able to take the car! Overral it was a fantastic holiday, very restful, location was good, staff were fantastic, and the kiosk just outside the hotel sold great food, so thank you to you all, Nicholas, Yannis, Carrie-An, Ella, and the lovely ladies who cleaned our room each day. We stayed on a half board basis, and I must admit it was value for money, the beach is a stones throw away from the hotel and it is very clean and safe for young families. I spoke to many people who were staying there and many had been coming for a long time. Not long come back from Cyprus and stayed in this hotel, got to admit it was brilliant, the hospitality was good, the hotel itself was very warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very helpful.
